Army vs UPenn Tailgate Info
for 5/3/08:
The McCallions would like to
host the tailgate for after
the game on Saturday and
will be barbecuing hot dogs
and hamburgers for everyone
and we are asking that the
parents fill in with our
usual assortment of salads,
heroes, desserts and
drinks. After some
investigation of where we
can meet, the McCallions
have found out that UPenn is
hosting a AAU track meet and
all parking on campus is
going to be reserved for
that, so we are planning on
meeting in parking lot # 2.
I am going to try and
explain where this is: You
have to be on 33rd Street,
(it is one-way). Make the
first right after the
Franklin Field stadium.
(There should be tennis
courts on the opposite
corner.) Follow that road
around to the left, and as
you approach Walnut Street,
parking lot #2 should be on
your left side. This is a
city parking lot, so it is
$12 for parking. Rob and
Marybeth McCallion are going
to try and get there early
and pay for and reserve
about 20 spots ahead of
time. They are asking that
you email Marybeth at
mmccallion@rosemontschool.org and
let her know that you would
like a spot.
Another clink in the works -
there is also a girls' lax
game ahead of ours and it
seems as though UPenn girls
are pretty good and this
a pretty big game, so
parking may even be more
tight than we think. We are
hoping this all works out.
If you need more info, you
can call Rob's cell at
610-453-0355.
The only other thing we need
are some tables. If you
have a folding table that
you can fit in your car or
truck, please bring it, and
of course some chairs.
Home Tailgates-
Tailgates-
All home game tailgates will be held at the Kimsey
Center for the 2008 Season.
Go to the
entrance, take the elevator to the 4th floor and
take a right.
We encourage the parents to bring heros, soups,
pastas, salads, casseroles, meats (such as pulled
pork or chicken) and in the past some parents have
even ordered pizza in town to be delivered after the
game.
Desserts
are always welcome and please bring enough drinks
for your cadet and your family. Parents
can bring crock pots and heating trays, there will
be electric to plug into. We can use the
kitchen but only for cleaning up, not for heating
any food.
New plebe
and yearling parents/families who are joining the
tailgates, please pitch in with set-up and clean-up.
A
reminder about tailgate etiquette.
Parents and guests wait to start eating until the
team has been fed. We can start on the appetizers
and beverages, but we wait on the main courses.
Finally, Coach Alberici and the USMA Administration
request that alcoholic beverages not be consumed at
Army Lacrosse tailgates.
Also, we
guarantee to our host that we will return the
tailgate venue to the condition in which we found
it. Please help us clean up after this tailgate so
we can honor our guarantee.
If you have questions about
Army Lax Parents or
tailgates, contact Mike and
Linda Hanna at
Cmish20@aol.com, or call, (516) 541-9123.
