NAVY Tailgate
Saturday, 14 April 2007
Annapolis, MD

12:00 Noon Face-off

BEAT NAVY!
Linda and Mike Hanna have done yeoman work coordinating this tailgate, and through Army Lax Alum Bob Opatovsky '70, the West Point Society of Annapolis and the Northern Chesapeake West Point Society have stepped up in a big way to help make it a success. The tailgate will be the same place it was in 2005, on the grassy area next to the water tower hard by Gate #1 off Farragut Road in the northeast corner of the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium parking lot, Gold Side (See Navy Tailgate Map). For directions, go to Navy Driving Directions.

This tailgate will be outdoors, without electricity.
The Annapolis and
Northern Chesapeake West Point Societies are providing enough meat, cheese, rolls and condiments for sandwiches to feed about 120 people, plus sodas and water to augment what we will bring.

Army Lax Parents will provide the grills.
The big Hanna grill will cover most of that need, but others are welcome to bring their grills too. Those who have them also should bring gas stoves, Sterno, etc., to make sure we have cooking and warming capacity for all the different dishes we might want to provide.

Army Lax Parents will provide all the salads, side dishes, and desserts, as well as the sports drinks and water for the team.

Parents and friends who can’t bring food from home, especially those flying in, can phone ahead to order from Graul's Market, directly across Rowe Blvd from the stadium. Their phone number is 410-269-5103. Graul's is a small chain of family owned markets in the Baltimore-Annapolis area that offers a wide array of prepared foods, salads, trays, etc., etc.

Army Lax Parents will bring tables and tents for serving areas and socializing. There are never too may places to sit, eat, and socialize, so we should bring all the tables, chairs, and tents we have.

Tailgate Alert
Based on our experience two years ago, we will need A LOT of food. The West Point Societies of Annapolis and the Northern Chesapeake are providing sandwich makings for approximately 120 people, but we know that there will be many scrounging cadets plus Army Lax alumni and friends dropping in on our tailgate. Therefore, you may also want to bring to bring steaks, chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs, sausage, etc., to supplement the grill-fare the local West Point Societies will provide.

Get there early.
Bob Opatovsky writes, “Because parking will probably be a problem for those arriving late, I recommend those with grills and foodstuff arrive at approximately 1000. That's when I plan to be there to stake a claim to the location and get a nearby parking spot.” The Hannas also will be there by 10:00 AM to set up their tent and barbecues.
They will also have coffee, rolls, and donuts, so invite everyone to “come on by” before the game.

Questions? Contact the Hannas at Cmish20@aol.com.

A reminder about tailgate etiquette.
Parents and guests wait to start eating until the team has been fed. We can start on the appetizers and beverages, but we wait on the main courses. Also, the Gatorade is reserved for the players only.

Also, Coach Alberici and the USMA Administration request that alcoholic beverages not be consumed at Army Lacrosse tailgates, at home or away.

GO ARMY!
BEAT NAVY!

We guarantee to our host that we will return the tailgate venue to the condition in which we found it. Please help us clean up after this tailgate so we can honor our guarantee.
