Army Lacrosse Parents (ArmyLaxParents)
Scroll down for 2008 contact
information.
What are we?
An organization made up of
parents, alumni, and friends of
the Army Lacrosse program.
Our Mission
To support our cadets in their
lacrosse experience and maintain
the family atmosphere that has
long been a staple of this
program. To
support all Army Lacrosse
players, including those whose
home geography or other
factors
limit their own parents'
participation.
What do we do?
The organization manages the
tailgate receptions that follow
both home and away Army Lacrosse
games.
The tailgate receptions
are open to all players,
coaches, Army Lacrosse
personnel, parents, friends,
relatives, etc., who come to our
games. The organization and its
planning committees oversee the
site locations, food planning,
clean up detail, etc. In
addition, West Point Parent's
Lacrosse Club provides tailgates at Fall Ball
and preseason events, often
gathers unofficially for
tailgates at Army home football
games, supports our annual post
season Army Lacrosse Awards
Picnic, and hosts the
traditional Army Lacrosse
Graduation Party and
Commissioning Ceremony.
How is it funded?
The organization is funded
principally through a one time per season family
allocation.
This allocation is
calculated once the varsity roster is set,
usually after the Fall Ball
season ends. We raise
additional monies through the
sale of the Army
Lacrosse logowear
we offer throughout the year.
Funds are also allocated through
the cadets' per game stipend.
Direct contributions to Army
Lacrosse Parents are also
accepted and gratefully
welcomed.

How
is the money spent?
The
majority of the
budget ... including almost all
of the players' per game stipend
... goes to
paying for tailgate costs,
especially away
tailgates. Even when parent clubs
in an away opponent's area
host a tailgate, we
contribute toward their costs. West
Point Parent's Lacrosse Club
also pays for all of the
paper products used at all tailgates.
The
budget also covers the cost of
this armylaxparents.com
website. We also
front all of the cost for logowear, as well as pay postage for
all the logowear that is ordered
online.
West Point Parent's Lacrosse
Club also donates to
worthy military
causes such
the Wounded Warrior Project,
Operation Intrepid, and the
Fischer Houses.
The
other major areas of West Point
Parent's Lacrosse Club expenditures are the
post-season Annual Army Lacrosse
Awards Picnic and the
traditional Army Lacrosse
Graduation Party and
Commissioning Ceremony. We
provide gifts and awards for the
Awards Picnic, including firstie graduation
gifts from the lacrosse team.
For the Graduation Party and
Commissioning Ceremony, West
Point Parent's Lacrosse Club covers the meal cost for
each new-minted Army Lax Grad,
as well as all the coaches and
Officer Representatives and their spouses. After
several relatively small Army
Lax graduating classes, this will be a large
number in 2008 because of all the firsties.
Parents and all guests at the
Graduation Party pay
for their own way.
There
usually is money left over at the
end of the season that goes
toward Fall Ball tailgates.
What can I do?
Your support is essential to the
maintenance and survival of an
effective West Point Parent's
Lacrosse
organization.
Once Coach Alberici sets the varsity
roster, we will contact you and
ask for your support.
Support may come in
many
ways, from what may seem minor
or menial to an intense
season-long commitment.
Our committee will
publish a "things to do" list
and ask for your
help.
Thanks in advance.
2007/2008 Leadership
For 2008, the West Point
Parent's Lacrosse Club is led by the parents
of the team's two captains. Additional
committee members have
volunteered to manage certain
areas of responsibility. We will need
volunteers for various positions
for the next season.
